Doctor Confirms Vinod Kambli Has Brain Clots After Medical Tests

Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has been hospitalized in Thane, where doctors revealed he has brain clots following medical examinations on December 23. Kambli, 52, was admitted to Akriti Hospital in Thane on December 21 after his condition worsened.

Dr. Vivek Trivedi, who is treating Kambli, explained that the former cricketer initially reported a urinary infection and cramps, leading to his hospitalization in the Kalher area of Bhiwandi town on Saturday. After a series of tests, the medical team at Akruti Hospital discovered brain clots in Vinod Kambli, as reported by Dr. Trivedi.

Kambli’s health is being closely monitored, and additional tests are scheduled for Tuesday. Dr. Trivedi also mentioned that hospital in-charge S. Singh has decided to offer Kambli lifelong free treatment at the facility. Kambli has been facing health issues for over a decade.

A member of the 1996 World Cup-winning team, Kambli has struggled with both health problems and financial difficulties since retiring.

He was recently seen at a memorial event for his childhood coach, Ramakanth Achrekar, where he appeared frail and became emotional upon meeting his childhood friend and former India teammate, Sachin Tendulkar.

The Indian cricket community has stepped forward to support Kambli

Kambli has been a cherished figure in Indian cricket, but his life after retirement has been filled with difficulties. In an interview earlier this year, he shared that he had suffered two heart attacks in 2013 and was also dealing with a severe urinary infection.

Kambli spoke about receiving financial assistance from Sachin Tendulkar, addressing misconceptions about their relationship, and expressing his willingness to undergo rehabilitation for his past struggle with alcohol addiction.

Several former cricketers, including ex-captains Sunil Gavaskar and Kapil Dev, have also offered their support to Kambli.
