Watch – Dom Sibley’s Reply To Niroshan Dickwella Wins Hearts On The Internet When Asked If He’ll Be Opening In India

Dom Sibley

The recently concluded Test series between England and Sri Lanka might have been the most fruitful one for England but it certainly wasn’t the most ideal series for their opening batsman Dom Sibley who has registered scores 4, 2, 0, and 56* in the 2 Tests. With Rory Burns all set to return for the series against India, it is possible that Dom Sibley might lose his place in the side as England would look to open with Zack Crawley and Rory Burns.

England whitewashed Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka which has been a significant boost for the English side with the series against India approaching in just 2 weeks’ time. Though numerous injuries hit Sri Lanka prior to the series, England will be facing a full-strength Indian side who are currently high on confidence after the series win against Australia.

In the first Test, Sri Lanka suffered a horror defeat as England comprehensively beat them by 7 wickets. The biggest contribution for the English side coming from their skipper Joe Root who launched a double-century knock of 228 runs giving England the early control in the first Test.

During England’s chase of 164, Sri Lanka’s wicketkeeper Niroshan Dickwella asked Dom Sibley looking at his poor form in the ongoing series whether he’ll be opening in India as well. Dom Sibley replied in such a fashion which has been winning hearts all over the internet.

The England batsman said he doesn’t know since he hasn’t had a great series in Sri Lanka.

Dickwella: Are you gonna open in India?

Sibley: Don’t know, I haven’t had a very good series.
