The retention phase of the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an end on Tuesday, November 15. All ten teams submitted their final list of retained players to the governing body. In a big announcement from the retention phase, the Chennai Super Kings have released West Indies all-rounder and T20 legend Dwayne Bravo ahead of the 2023 Indian Premier League auctions.
Dwayne Bravo was brought by the Chennai Super Kings in the 2022 IPL auctions for 4.40 crores after a fierce battle with the Delhi Capitals and the Sunrisers Hyderabad. The Chennai Super Kings did not have a great outing in the season and finished ninth. Bravo ended with 16 wickets, to become Chennai’s leading wicket-taker in the season. However, he struggled with the bat and could manage only 23 runs in six innings.
