Team India’s ace fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah has hit back at the critics following his outstanding performance in the first Test against England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham. Bumrah returned with a nine-wicket haul, including a fifer as rain forced the visitors to settle for a draw.
Incidentally, Bumrah faced a lot of criticisms for his below-par performance in the WTC final where India lost to New Zealand. He struggled to extract swing out of the Southampton wicket which saw many former cricketers calling out the young fast bowler.
But he has silenced his critics in style with his on-field performance and now hit back at them off the field as well. Taking to Twitter, Jasprit Bumrah shared a couple of pictures and wrote:
“Still don’t need you.”

Jasprit Bumrah is out number one bowler: KL Rahul
Speaking on Bumrah’s performances, Rahul stated that Jasprit Burmrah is their “number one bowler” and has proven his mettle in diverse conditions.
“Sir, I don’t know why you are saying that (Jasprit) Bumrah has made a comeback. Every time, in every game, in every condition he has proved himself and he is our number one bowler. We are happy that he is doing what he is (has) been doing since he started playing Test cricket.
“Wherever he has played, he has been a match-winner for us. We are happy that he has done once again, what he does best,” Rahul said.
Rahul was also impressed with India’s bowling and its discipline in the entire Test match.
“The way we bowled in the first innings and the discipline that we showed after losing the toss and bowling first (was a takeaway). It felt like the team which won the toss had an advantage and we bowled with a lot of discipline. How Mohammed Shami and Bumrah started and how Shardul and Siraj continued, how all of them worked together and bowled in the right channels,” he signed off.
