ENG vs IND 2021: Michael Vaughan Gives Weather Update For The Lord’s Test

Michael Vauaghn IPL 2021

After rain played spoilsport in the first Test, fans will look for full five days of action for the 2nd Tets between India and England, scheduled to start from August 12 (Thursday) at Lord’s. Ahead of the game, former English captain Michael Vaughan has shared the weather update for the upcoming encounter.

Despite rain playing a spoilsport, the Trent Bridge was shaping up for an exciting finish with 157 runs required for India to go 1-0 up in the series, with nine wickets in hand. However, a complete washout on the final day forced both sides to settle for a draw.

While the fans wait for some kind of weather update, Michael Vaughan has asserted that rain might not play a huge factor in this Test with the weather forecast looking positive in the build-up to the match. Vaughan updated that there is no major scare of rain on the forecast as of now.

“I’m home, which is like three hours away from London. You can see my window; the sun is glaring through. I believe (fingers crossed), there is no rain forecast up north or down south for the next week which means that we should be set for a full Test match. You never know in the UK; I am sure it may surprise but as we speak, no rain forecast for the Test match,” Vaughan said on Cricbuzz.

India have suffered a selection headache on the eve of the second Test against England with an injury likely to rule out Shardul Thakur. It is suspected that Thakur has a hamstring injury, and the team management has decided to replace him for the Lord’s Test.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is likely to slot in for Shardul Thakur in the playing XI for the Lord’s Test.
