Team India led by Virat Kohli is down to their final preparations ahead of the third Test at Headingley. The Test match starts from August 25 with England trailing the series 0-1. India are confident and that is very visible in the way they are building up to the Test match. All the players are charged up and the whole team are sniffing the possibility of a Test series win.

BCCI’s official Twitter handle shared a video of all the players doing their final warm-ups before the Test match starts. The montage shows Team India players training together with Rohit Sharma particularly focusing on his batting. The likes of Suryakumar Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin also were a part of the fitness drills and rundown. There is an outside chance of both these players playing the next Test although Virat Kohli chose to stay silent on questions of team selection.

In between, the Indian skipper got very angry with one of the journalists asking him if he was happy to win against a weakened England side. “I don’t think that’s a question to ask” Kohli said in response.

Reflecting on India playing against a weak-looking English side, he said, “Does that depend on the strength of the opposition? Even when the key players are playing, we think we can beat anyone. We don’t wait for the opposition to be weak.”

On being asked about the pitch, the Indian skipper said he was slightly surprised to see less grass on the Headingley wicket, which is traditionally known for the pace and bounce. Despite the best efforts of all the reporters to urge him to hint the possible XI, the Indian skipper sidelined the question.

India have a good record at Leeds, with their last defeat coming way back in 1967. The side won by an innings and 46 runs the last time they played a Test match at this venue in 2002.
