The Board of Control for Cricket in India, took to social media to share Team India’s preparation ahead of the first test match. They posted a video on Twitter and wrote:

Preparations done, Stage Set, It’s a matter of few hours before we witness the LIVE action from Trent Bridge TeamIndia#ENGvIND ARE YOU READY?”

The Indian team reached Nottingham last week and indulged in a practice session on Monday. The boys started off the session with warm-ups followed by a fielding session. net session.

The Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and other batter hit the net session to gear up for the series. Unfortunately, Mayank Agarwal, who was likely to open the innings for India along with Rohit Sharma, was hit on the helmet. He has been ruled out of the first test. KL Rahul is being touted as his replacement.

Head-to-Head, England has had an upper hand over India in their home conditions. On India’s tour of England 2018, the hosts, England defeated India 4-1. Team India’s skipper Virat Kohli stated that his team is “definitely better prepared” this time. Addressing the media, on the eve of the first test, Kohli said:

“The players, who were inexperienced in 2018 are now more experienced. Yes, there will be failures but we will have enough players to raise their hands up and be counted in pressure situations.”

The England vs India test series will mark the beginning of the World Test Championship 2021-23 cycle. Both sides will be keen to kick off the new edition on a winning note.
