Indian cricketer Virat Kohli was looking in good touch in the third T20I against England on Sunday, July 10 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. However, his stay at the crease was short-lived as he got out for eleven runs in the match. His place in the T20I team has been under the scanner due to his poor form. In the last couple of years, the right-handed batter has been going through a rough patch.
Virat Kohli came out to bat at his usual number three position in the third T20I. He started the innings positively, looking to score runs. The 34-year-old slammed a six and a boundary during his stay at the crease. However, he once again failed to convert his start into big innings.
In the third over, David Willey bowled a wide-length delivery, which Kohli stepped out and slapped straight to the short extra cover. Jason Roy took a great one-handed catch to send Virat Kohli back to the hut. The Indian cricketer got out for eleven runs off six deliveries.

Virat Kohli was rested for the first T20I. He made a comeback in the second T20I replacing in-form batter Deepak Hooda. Kohli managed just one run in the second match. His spot in the Indian T20I team is under threat, with the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 around the corner. Kohli’s latest innings against England in the third resulted in mixed reactions from the fans. Some appreciated his intent, while some fans expressed their disappointment.
Let’s take a look at how fan’s reacted to Virat Kohli’s dismissal:
Nope, not happening for #Kohli tonight either. In hindsight, didn’t have to throw his bat after getting a 4 and 6 off the previous two deliveries. But in hindsight, vision is 20/20

Virat Kohli departs after 11, an agressive approach gets the better of him. India now 13/2.

Decent four, superb six & gone.
Virat Kohli disappoints again, the focus which delivered centuries on a daily basis is simply not there. #ViratKohli #INDvsENG— Sushant Mehta (@SushantNMehta) July 10, 2022

Just when i was typing: "this is sublime Kohli, enjoy it till it lasts," it's over #ENGvIND

Too much intent either of rohit or kohli should be holding one end till the end and play an anchor inning, the batsman at other end should be playing the shots. If this is going to continue than we are going to be in worry some situations more often.

Now …. Now …. Now…. Everything Virat Kohli hits is caught brilliantly. Bad luck. If he blocks he gets caught in the slips. If he plays shots he gets caught brilliantly. What does he do ? What can coach Rahul Dravid suggest ?

It doesn’t matter whether you’re a King or a Queen. In a team sport if your lean patch continues for three years, you deserve to be dropped. As simple as that #Kohli #CricketTwitter #ENGvIND

is this kohli's ENDULKAR? OR JUST THE END

Kohli played a terrific hand. Made it more likely that IND will win this, not less.

For a long time now, Virat isn't getting a second opportunity, falling prey to his first mistake. The @chetans1987-led selection committee has enough cricketing nous to understand this. #Kohli #ENGvIND #T20I

Right approach, right shot, just picked the fielder, lovely catch.
Wish Kohli played like this in T20 every time.
Too late for these wishes, though. 🙁

Bravo ! Kohli finally made a few runs. How many games we have to loose before finally dropping him ??

Do not support Kapil Dev’s statement: Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s childhood coach
Former India cricketer Kapil Dev feels that Virat Kohli should no longer be a certainty in India’s T20I squad. He expressed that if a bowler of R Ashwin’s stature can be dropped from Tests, then India should also look at Virat Kohli’s performance in T20Is. However, Kohli’s childhood Rajkumar Sharma has expressed his disagreement with Kapil Dev’s statement.
“I do not support the statements made by Kapil Dev on Virat Kohli. Nothing big happened with Virat that such kind of statement has been issued. Why is there so much hurry with Virat, he has done so well for the country. Making 70 international centuries is not a small thing. I do not think the board will make a decision to have him sit on the bench,” Rajkumar said to ANI.
