Speaking of heartwarming cricket moments, Virat Kohli created one such memory for Indian cricket enthusiasts during a match against Pakistan. His supreme fitness was on full display as he notched up his 47th ODI century, while the comeback player KL Rahul mirrored his brilliance with a captivating century. This stunning performance led India to a resounding 228-run victory over a lackluster Pakistan in a rain-interrupted Super Four game at the Asia Cup.

This victory marked India’s most significant win in terms of runs against their arch-rivals. India posted a formidable 356 for 2, with Kohli (122 not out off 94 balls) and Rahul (111 not out off 106 balls) dismantling Pakistan’s hopes. The Pakistani chase faltered, ending at a meager 128 for 8, largely due to Kuldeep Yadav’s remarkable spell of 5/25.

In the race for the most ODI centuries, Kohli now stands just two behind Sachin Tendulkar’s legendary record of 49. The partnership between Kohli and Rahul, amassing 233 runs for the unbeaten third wicket, became India’s highest ODI partnership against Pakistan.

On his way to his 77th international century, Kohli achieved some personal milestones, including becoming the fastest batsman to reach 13,000 ODI runs and scoring his fourth century in as many innings at the R Premadasa Stadium. Notably, Rahul’s century was equally crucial for the team’s success, solidifying India’s dominance in this memorable match.
