ENGvIND: Adil Rashid Returns To England Test Squad For First Test against India

The England squad for the first match against India has been announced by the board today. A 13-man balanced squad looks a bit threatening and it is expected to be nothing short of an intense thriller against the No:1 test side

Adil Rashid, the man who sealed the ODI series has been named ahead of Dominic Bess and Jack Leach. Essex seamer Jamie Porter also received his maiden call-up. Other notable players to make a comeback include Moeen Ali and Keaton Jennings.

The latter one made an impact during the test series against India(2016) when he replaced Haseeb Hameed. He also hit a century in his debut and the memories are still fresh in the minds of the British.

Adil Rashid”s inclusion is said to be one of the most controversial ones as he was recalled to the squad after 2016 test series against India. Moeen Ali played a successful role in troubling the Indian batsman during the 2014 series.

In fact, that series was an eye-opener to his career in international cricket. The other names in the squad are the regulars Cook, Broad, Anderson, Bairstow, Stokes and skipper Joe Root.

The verbal clashes have already made the headlines and this makes the series more interesting. Can Kohli and Co hit back with their performances? Only time will tell.

The first match will be played at Edgbaston from August 1.
