Jasprit Bumrah game changing with the 2nd new ball helped team India inch closer to a historic win on the 4th day of 3rd test match played at Trent Bridge, Nottingham just finished a few moments ago. It was a dream spell by Ishant Sharma who took the first 2 wickets. Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes put an important partnership to give England hope but lost wickets.
Starting the day on 23 for 0, Ishant Sharma got the early wicket of Jennings 13. India’s fast bowler then dismissed Cook for the 11th time in his test career to leave England in a bad position.
Joe Root and Pope added 30 runs for the 3rd wicket before Jasprit Bumrah got the big wicket of England captain Joe Root for 13. Mohammed Shami then got the big wicket of Pope to reduce the hosts at 62 for 4. Jos Buttler was dropped by Pant. At lunch break, England scored 84 for 4.
After the lunch break, both Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes played with solid discipline. Buttler reached his half-century off 93 balls while Ben Stokes showed great defence. Both of them played the Indian bowlers well and not allowing them to pick a wicket. England ended the 2nd session at 173 for 4.
In the third session, both batsmen continued to play the Indian bowlers well. Ben Stokes reached his half-century off 147 balls while Buttler made the batting look easy. Buttler reached his century off 152 balls. With the second new ball, Jasprit Bumrah broke through dismissing Jos Buttler for 106 runs with a review from Jos Buttler. Buttler and Ben Stokes added 169 runs for the 5th wicket. On the next ball, Jasprit Bumrah got the wicket of Jonny Bairstow. It was a great spell of bowling by Bumrah who dismissed Chris Woakes for just 4 runs.
Hardik Pandya got the big wicket of Ben Stokes for 62 to leave England in big trouble at 241 for 8. Adil Rashid was dismissed off a no ball by Jasprit Bumrah. Adil Rashid and Stuart Broad added 50 runs for the 9th wicket. Jasprit Bumrah got his 2nd five-wicket haul in test matches.
Adil Rashid and James Anderson remained not out to put the test match on the 5th day. England ended at the score of 311 for 9. For India, Jasprit Bumrah was the pick of bowlers with 5/85. Ishant Sharma picked 2 wickets, Mohammed Shami and Hardik Pandya took 1 wicket each
