Eoin Morgan who led England to glory in the 50 over World Cup has said that his side will have to “make do” for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup. The limited-overs skipper of England is keen on playing mega event if it happens this year. Morgan says that his side will have to “make do” of any limited opportunities before the T20 World Cup.

Meanwhile, there is still a possibility that T20 blitz that was scheduled to be played from October 18 to November 15 still goes ahead. All the sporting activities have been either postponed or cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic all over the world.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has already announced that no professional Cricket will take place in England and Wales until July 1 due to the pandemic. As a result, the cricketers are stuck at their houses. In a recent interview with ESPNcricinfo, Eoin Morgan talked about the T20 World Cup and the current conditions without no cricket.

Furthermore, the 33-year-old also suggested converting the 3 matches ODI series against Ireland into a T20 series. England and Ireland were slated to play a 3 match ODI series in September this year. Eoin Morgan feels by doing this it will allow the players of his side some practice ahead of the T20 World Cup.

“We have to make do. If Tests were going on, there would be ways and means we could have meaningful practice matches in and around those Ireland games in a similar environment. We will have to wait and see how much cricket we play and the opportunities that land on the guys. They’ll have to make the most of them because they are very limited ones at the moment” Morgan concluded.
