ICC has announced the schedule for the 2019 Cricket world cup in England and Wales. England is all set to face South Africa in the Tournament opener on May 30, 2019.
England faced an embarrassing exit in the 2015 world cup as they were defeated by Bangladesh and couldn”t even make their way into quarterfinals.
England also holds the record for the highest total in an ODI match, when they posted 444 on the board against Pakistan. The team had undergone a lot of renovations till then and have become one of the most dangerous sides in the limited overs cricket.
Meanwhile, the English skipper Eoin Morgan is all smiles and looking forward to clinching the World Cup for the first time.
He said ” I think it will be a great fun going to different grounds and seeing all our supporters form the country. It”s a huge tournament for us and it will be great to have a following.”
Morgan also stressed that the team should work on their mistakes and should come out all guns blazing as the world cup is just a year away. The English skipper will lead the World XI side against the Windies in a one-off T20I fundraiser at Lords on May 31.
The last two editions of the World Cup have been won the hosts and England will be looking to continue that pattern by winning it next year.
England will be facing Australia in a limited over series at home in the month of June before India”s long tour.
.@Eoin16 thinks the 2019 @cricketworldcup will be great fun!
