Team India is already gearing up for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2022 which will take place in Australia later this year. They have adopted a new aggressive batting approach in T20I recent matches, where the players are looking to keep the run rate up, even if they lose early wickets. India’s all-rounder Hardik Pandya has expressed that the new batting approach helps players gain confidence.

Before the start of the T20I series against the West Indies, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma had said that he does not feel India is playing conservative cricket in the past. He expressed that the new approach has allowed the players more freedom to express themselves. In a chat with a journalist, Vimal Kumar, Hardik Pandya summed up the new aggressive batting style. He also shed light on the mindset of the Indian batters.

“You gain confidence when you see players performing with a new approach, the way with which pressure is being put on opposition bowlers. They might be thinking that even if new-look India are 10-3, they will be looking to score 190 rather than play out the 20 overs. Because of that attitude, this team is looking more and more dangerous,” said Hardik Pandya.

I have maintained a balance in my life: Hardik Pandya

Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has made a fantastic comeback to India’s white ball this year. He was out of the Indian team for a while. However, following his all-round exploits in the Indian Premier League 2022 season, the Indian team recalled him back to the squad.

Hardik Pandya has scored 253 runs in twelve T20Is this year at an average of 31.62 and a strike rate of 136.75. He also has eight wickets to his name in T20Is in 2022. His return to the Indian team has provided them with a perfect balance ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. Speaking about his comeback, Hardik Pandya said,

“The last World Cup was very different than this one, but the process has remained the same. I have maintained a balance in my life now, where if I am performing I will be happy, even if I am not, I will be happy. With that, you won’t be overconfident while you perform well and won’t be too demotivated when the bad slump comes along. That balance is really important.”
