Fans Disappointed As Vaibhav Suryavanshi Misses India XI Again

Young Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was expected to make his debut on the Ireland tour, will have to wait longer for his opportunity, along with fans eager to see the teenage sensation play for India. The 15-year-old was once again left out of the playing XI for the second T20I in Belfast on Sunday, June 28.

While Suryansh Shedge and Prince Yadav received their debut caps for the match, Suryavanshi did not get a chance. Neither of the two debutants included the young left-hander. This marked the first time Suryavanshi was part of the squad but did not play a single match in the series.

Fans were left disappointed again, hoping to see the young star represent India.

“Ye BCCI wale Vaibhav Sooryavanshi ke naam pr Tickets bech rhe h,uske naam pr stadiums bhar rhe h,usi ke naam ke promo cut rhe h. Log keval sooryavanshi ke liye match dekh rhe h. lekin BCCI and management use playing 11 me select nhi kr rhi. Matlab hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti h

(BCCI is selling tickets in the name of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, filling stadiums in his name, promos are being made in his name. People are watching this match only for Suryavanshi. But BCCI and management are not selecting him in the playing 11. There is a limit of hypocrisy as well),” a fan wrote on X.

“Playing any format of cricket without Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is like – Argentina playing without Messi. Portugal playing without Ronaldo. Mithun Manhas Gautam Gambhir Shreyas Iyer Ajit Agarkar should immediately be sacked,” another fan tweeted.

One fan also said that Vaibhav Suryavanshi deserved a place in the playing XI ahead of Tilak Varma, claiming the latter is in the team only because he is the vice-captain.

“It’s a shame that we are forced to play Tilak Varma who has become more like a slow ODI batter in T20Is just coz he is made VC Not sure on what basis he is made a VC Vaibhav should have played in place of Tilak,” the tweet read.

Here are some more twitter reactions:

India won the toss and chose to bowl first. After a surprising 34-run loss in the first T20I, India must win this match to level the series.

Will Vaibhav Suryavanshi Make His Debut in England?

With Vaibhav Suryavanshi missing out on the playing XI during the Ireland tour, attention will now shift to the England tour. India are set to play five T20Is in England in July as part of their multi-format white-ball series. It remains uncertain whether the 15-year-old will finally get his international debut in that series.

He has been in outstanding form, recently scoring 94 off just 29 balls against Sri Lanka A in the Tri-Nation series. Suryavanshi also enjoyed an excellent 2026 Indian Premier League season, finishing as the top run-scorer with 776 runs in 16 matches at an average of 48.50 and a strike rate of 237.30, including one century and five half-centuries.
