A match-fixing scandal has surfaced in the ongoing UP T20 League 2025, with an FIR registered following a report by Times Now. The matter came to light when Kashi Rudras’ team manager, Arjun Chauhan, received an Instagram message from a user named ‘vipss_nakrani’, who identified himself as a bookie. He allegedly offered ₹1 crore to fix matches, along with a ₹50 lakh commission.
Chauhan immediately alerted the BCCI’s Anti-Corruption Unit (ACU), which took over the conversation to trace further details. The bookie reportedly asked players to follow his instructions and even claimed he would attend matches with his associates. The ACU recorded the chats on another device and later submitted them to the Lucknow Police as evidence.
Based on this, an FIR was lodged on August 31. Charges were registered under Sections 318, 319, 112, and 62 of the IPC, along with Section 3 of the Public Gaming Act, 1867. Efforts are underway to track down the individual accused of the match-fixing bid in the ongoing UP T20 League 2025.
