Sourav Ganguly Adani Wilmar

Well down FMCG company Adani Wilmar has decided to stop airing advertisements of its Fortune Rice Bran cooking oil which features former India captain and BCCI president Sourav Ganguly. The decision to temporarily stop the airing of the advertisements was taken after criticism on social media regarding the promotion of the cooking oil where Ganguly is the one who says it keeps the heart-healthy.

On the contrary, Sourav Ganguly suffered a mild cardiac arrest in the early hours of Saturday after which he was admitted into the Woodlands Multispeciality Hospital in Kolkata where he underwent Angioplasty. Ganguly was taken to the hospital after he complained of chest pain while exercising on a treadmill in a gym at his home place.

As per a report in The Quint, FMCG producer Adani Wilmar decided to stop airing advertisements of its Fortune Rice Bran cooking oil after news of Ganguly’s heart attack was out in the middle. The general public on social media was seen taking a dig at the company linking it to Ganguly’s heart attack.

Sourav Ganguly To Be Discharged on Wednesday

BCCI President Sourav Ganguly is likely to be discharged from Woodlands Hospital on Wednesday, as per the latest news reports in PTI. The former Indian skipper had a successful angioplasty following a mild heart attack. He started feeling unwell after he developed a sudden blackout while training at a gym session on Saturday.

A team of nine doctors worked on improving Ganguly’s health and bring it to a stable condition. After a proper inspection, they have concluded that he is good to be released. Ganguly was diagnosed with a blockage in three coronary arteries.

“The medical board came to a consensus that deferring angioplasty, for now, is a safer option as Mr. Ganguly is stable, does not have chest pain, and is on optimal management,” Dr. Rupali Basu the CEO and MD of Woodlands Hospital was quoted as saying by PTI.
