Unlike many contemporary cricketers, he doesn”t post selfies but addresses social issues on his Twitter account. His charitable organizations Gautam Gambhir Foundation is well known for doing acts that have eased the pain of distressed people.
He had donated his Man of the match award prize money to martyrs of Sukma Maoists Attack that took place in Chattisgarh in April. He then tweeted,“As we crib over lack of air conditioning or size of our already mammoth SUV, let’s ponder over d future of d daughters of CRPF martyrs”
On August 28, 2017, Abdul Rashid, an assistant sub-inspector of Jammu-Kashmir police, was shot by militants in Anantnag. At his wreath-laying ceremony, his daughter Zohra was seen crying bitterly.
A week after the incident, Gautam tweeted, “Zohra, I can”t put u 2 sleep wid a lullaby but I”ll help u 2 wake up 2 live ur dreams. Will support ur education 4 lifetimes #daughterofIndia”

Zohra was quick to thank him for his support and expressed her desire to become a doctor. She said, “Thank you, Gautam Sir, I and my family are very happy with your gesture, I want to become a doctor.”
