Gautam Gambhir Eyes Former Mumbai Indians Star For Assistant Coach Role – Reports

According to a report, Gautam Gambhir, the newly appointed head coach of the Indian cricket team, is considering former international player Abhishek Nayar for the role of assistant coach. Gambhir and Nayar previously collaborated during the tenure of the IPL 2024 season, playing crucial roles in leading the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to victory.

During this era, Gambhir served the team’s mentor, while Nayar was the assistant coach. Additionally, Nayar, a former member for the Mumbai Indians, holds the post of director on the KKR Academy. The document suggests that Gambhir needs for Nayar to enroll in him as part of the Indian cricket team’s help team of staff. The Bengali newspaper Aajkal reported that Gambhir and Nayar had a verbal agreement all through their tenure with KKR, indicating that Nayar is likely to follow Gambhir after his appointment as the pinnacle coach of Team India.

His clear vision for #TeamIndia, coupled with his vast experience, positions him perfectly to take on this exciting and most sought-after coaching role. The @BCCI fully supports him as he embarks on this new journey.”
