Gautam Gambhir reveals his good friends from the Indian Team

The left-handed batsman, Gautam Gambhir who turned 36 a few days back revealed who was his close acquaintances from the Indian team. He is currently playing for Delhi in the ongoing Ranji Trophy.

In a recent interview upload from his franchise side, Kolkata Knight Riders official YouTube channel the southpaw who gave his side two Indian Premier League (IPL) titles revealed that his opening partner Virender Sehwag and the flamboyant cricketer from Punjab Yuvraj Singh remains few of his good friends. Apart from Sehwag and Yuvi, the cricketer also added he loves spending time with his colleagues from Delhi like Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra.

In the interview, Gambhir was heard saying, “I spent a lot of time with Viru (Virender Sehwag). Obviously, Ishant (Sharma) is a very good friend. Munaf (Patel) is a good friend. I grew up with Amit Mishra and we practiced a lot. I also spent a lot of time with Yuvi (Yuvraj Singh) when we played together. I share a great relationship with all these guys and we have seen highs and lows together.”

Gambhir also recollected the memories of the World Cup winning days which he says will stay with him forever. “I think some of our great cricketing moments have been together, especially winning 2007 WT20 and 2011 World Cup. And also some of the lowest moments like getting whitewashed in England. It has always been great fun because I am sure once all we retire, these memories will stay with us for the rest of our lives,” he further added.

Gambhir also reminisced the days from his school when he was suspended from his when he was in 12th standard. He also talked about his competitive nature by citing examples of current India skipper Virat Kohli and admitted that coming from Delhi has a big role to play for the competitive attitude.

When asked about his family, he admitted that he loves to spend time with his family, especially with his daughter. “I spend a lot of time with my daughter when I am not playing. That is one thing that I always miss. This is something that I always do whenever I am free. I try to take her out for shopping etc whenever I can. This is something that really gives me peace and happiness. At the moment, spending time with my daughter is my biggest stress-buster,” The world cup winning hero signed off.
