Former Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has blasted the BCCI for not keeping Virat Kohli updated on Rohit Sharma’s injury. Meanwhile, Gambhir now has backed Virat on the debate of Rohit’s injury. Decisions on Rohit’s injury is being constantly changed by the BCCI who are putting pressure on the batsman to prove his fitness.

“That’s not right. You have to back Virat Kohli on this. He’s the captain, he’s the guy who is leading on the cricket field. He’s the guy who is going to face the criticism. He’s the guy who has got to face all the fire. So he should be always there in the mix. He should know exactly what’s happening with all the players,” Gautam Gambhir told ESPNcricinfo.

“And that is the responsibility of the selectors, that is the responsibility of probably the chairman as well. Virat Kohli should always be in the loop because he is the flagbearer of Indian cricket at the moment. If something goes wrong, we end up criticising the captain a lot” Gambhir further added.

Meanwhile, as per the latest reports thoughts of Rohit Sharma being made travel to travel to Australia are still being worked on. He is likely to appear on a fitness test on December 11 after which the picture will get more clear.

“Everyone was part of a conference call and things have been clarified. Rohit will go to Australia and his travel plans are being made,” a BCCI office-bearer told Mumbai Mirror.
