After struggling in the first match against Vancouver Knights, Yuvraj Singh returned to his olden days with a quickfire 35 off 21 balls against Edmonton Royals played at CAA Centre, Brampton, Ontario on Saturday.
In the first match against Vancouver Knights, Yuvraj Singh scored 14 off 21 and could not hit a boundary in the innings. The captain of Toronto Nationals, Singh led from the front during the match against Edmonton Royals.
The match between Toronto Nationals and Edmonton Royals was reduced to 19 overs. Nationals captain Yuvraj won the toss and decided to field first. Royals captain Faf du Plessis scored a quickfire 28 off 18 balls. Edmonton Royals were struggling at 105 for 5 in the 14th over. The young leg spinner Shadab Khan and Ben Cutting the pressure on the Nationals bowlers with some clean hitting from both these batsmen.
Both added 65 runs for the 6th wicket. Shadab Khan played a blinder of innings scoring 36 off 17 balls while Ben Cutting remained not out on 43 off 24 balls with 1 four and 4 sixes. Edmonton Royals posted 191 for 6 at the end of 19 overs. For Toronto, Chris Green was the pick of bowler with 3 for 33, Gordon, Salman Nazar, and Montfort took 1 wicket each.
Chasing the target of 192 runs to win, Toronto lost 2 early wickets of Rodrigo Thomas and Calum MacLeod. Yuvraj Singh came to the crease and played with positive intent right from word go. Singh smashed 2 sixes off Shadab Khan bowling. He and Klassen added 56 runs for the 3rd wicket. Yuvraj was dismissed for 35 off 21 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes.

At one stage, Toronto Nationals were struggling at 125 for 7. Manpreet Gony came to the crease and scored a quickfire 33 off 12 balls with 3 fours and 3 sixes. Toronto Nationals won the match by 2 wickets with 7 balls to spare.
