Google paid an ultimate tribute to Team India after their historic win in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where they snubbed Australia 2-1 in the four-match series. Led by stand-in captain Ajinkya Rahane, Team India came from behind to clinch the series.

Meanwhile, India had their backs against the wall after losing the first Test in Adelaide. The visitors were all out for just 36 in the second innings of the pink-ball Test. They also lost skipper Virat Kohli due to paternity leave and Mohammed Shami with a fractured arm.

Many cricket experts and former cricketers ruled out India of making a comeback. However, opposite to the popular opinion and defying all odds, India went onto win the series 2-1 coming from behind. In the second Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, India beat the hosts by eight wickets to draw level in the series. The third Test in Sydney ended in a thrilling draw.

Google pays a heartfelt tribute to Team India

The final match of the tour unfolded in the most dramatic fashion. The youngsters dominated the proceedings before thrashing a star-studded Australian side by three wickets in the fourth Test at the Gabba to seal the series. The defeat at the Gabba was Australia’s first since 1988.

Ever since the win, applauds and praises have been going around all over the social media platforms. And recently, Google made sure to do their bit too. They celebrated the historic win over Australia in a unique way. Whenever an internet user searches for ‘Indian cricket team‘ on the search engine, he/she is greeted with virtual fireworks. The tricolor fireworks appear on the screen once search results for the Indian cricket team query surface on the Google site.

Google also had tweeted about the virtual fireworks, tweeting, “Still celebrating India’s win? Us too. Search for “India National Cricket Team”
