The winning team’s talisman, RCB’s Virat Kohli, was happy and thoughtful. Known for his intense and inspiring style, Kohli emphasized the value of hard work and faith in their quest for the playoffs.
When Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) unexpectedly guaranteed their place in the IPL 2024 playoffs, fans’ emotions ran high. It was nothing short of amazing for the team to defeat the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a margin of more than eighteen runs in a match that was on the verge of a washout.
Resilience and tenacity were key components of RCB’s wild ride to the postseason. The odds appeared to be stacked against them after they had only won one of their first eight games, suffering a run of losses.
But in an incredible show of perseverance, RCB overcame all odds to win their remaining six games.
“God’s got a plan”- Virat Kohli
This season’s path for the RCB has been greatly influenced by Virat Kohli‘s leadership. His emphasis on integrity and commitment fits very well with the team’s philosophy. He refrained from commenting too much, preferring to concentrate on the path ahead rather than linger on the victory.
“God’s got a plan. You just have to be honest about what you are doing, and I think we were pretty honest with our hard work, and we got the rewards,” Kohli remarked, acknowledging the team’s relentless efforts throughout the season.
“I don’t want to say anything more than this. Got to focus on the next one,” Virat Kohli added
Virat is the second player overall—Chris Gayle being the first—to score seven hundred runs in an IPL edition on two or more separate occasions. The legendary West Indian scored 708 runs in the 2013 IPL and 733 runs in the 2012 IPL.
