Hanuma Vihari Ruled Out Of The 4th Test With Hamstring Tear- Reports

Yet another blow for team India as Hanuma Vihari is likely to miss the last match of the Border-Gavaskar trophy. While taking a quick single in the 4th innings at SCG, Vihari, unfortunately, pulled his hamstring after which he struggled while running.

Vihari still continued batting and showcased lion-hearted spirit as India managed to draw the Test match. Now according to a PTI report, it is believed that Vihari has a hamstring tear and will not be playing the last Test match at Brisbane against Australia.

On day 5 of the crucial Sydney Test, Vihari alongside Ravichandran Ashwin batted out of their skins as India managed to draw the Test match. The 4 match Test series is still tied at 1-1 and the last Test will begin at Brisbane from January 15. As per the report of PTI, a BCCI source stated that Vihari will not only miss the last Test against Australia but is also doubtful for the home series against England in February.

Hanuma Vihari likely to miss the Brisbane Test

“The extent of Vihari’s tear can only be ascertained after the scan reports come through. But even if it’s a grade 1 tear, he is out for at least four weeks and then will need some rehabilitation time. So it’s not only Brisbane Test but also, he won’t be a part of England Tests at home”, a BCCI source told PTI on Monday.

Meanwhile, team India’s injury woes continue as star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has already been ruled out of the Test series against Australia after he fractured his thumb. The visitors now have a long list of injured players which will surely give the team management headaches before they pick the playing XI for the last Test match of the series.

Furthermore, as far as the replacement of Ravindra Jadeja is concerned pacer bowler Shardul Thakur is expected to come in place of him at Brisbane. Thakur was expected to play at SCG but the team management opted to play Navdeep Saini ahead of him. The Mumbai pacer is now almost certain to play at Brisbane and most probably Mayank Agarwal will also make a comeback into the side and replace Hanuma Vihari.
