Harbhajan Singh, the International Indian Cricketer, and a stalwart were purchased in the recently concluded Indian premier league auction by the southern-based and one of the best teams, Chennai super kings.
After playing a full decade for Mumbai Indians, the off-spinner will now be playing for the CSK. And in an interview given to the team”s website, the great off-spinner said, “It”s always a great feeling to play along with MS Dhoni. I”m looking forward to working with him again towards a common goal – this time to win the trophy for the Chennai Super Kings,”
“He (Dhoni) understands the game really well, is street-smart and thinks ahead of the game and I feel that”s very important for a captain, especially in T20. That”s what makes him a great skipper,” the off-spinning artist added.
Chennai Super Kings has had a stellar record in the Indian premier league”s history, they reached the playoffs in all the first eight seasons of the tournament and won it twice as well In 2010 and 2011.
The schedule for the upcoming season is such that Harbhajan”s new franchise will fight against his old team, in the very first game of the tournament. CSK will play MI on the April 7 at the Wankhede stadium. MI is arguably the most successful team in the league”s first decade winning three titles in the years 2013, 2015 and 2017 as well, arguably only because CSK didn”t play the last two seasons.
Hence this a great rivalry to some extent, on this Harbhajan said, “It”s great to be a part of two strong teams. 10 years with Mumbai Indians was absolutely brilliant, and now to be a part of another brilliant team. Here I come, Chennai! Let”s do it together for Yellow,”. “CSK versus Mumbai Indians – two top teams – was always a pressure game. No matter how bad the situation, both would continue to fight till the end and create chances. That”s how champion teams play, with a lot of passion and pride.”
Come to the season starts, this will be one of the contests to watch out for and also how Punjab off-spinner adopted by Mumbai for a decade, bowls for Chennai.
