Harbhajan Singh Feels India Are Strong Favorites To Win T20 World Cup Next Year

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh feels the current Indian T20 Contingent are strong favourites to win the ICC T20 World Cup next year in 2021 which is to take place in India.

This statement came from Harbhajan after India’s subsequent triumph over Australia in the three-match T20 series. The series win was India’s third consecutive series win on the Australian soil and was also India’s 10th consecutive T20 international win.

The series win prompted Harbhajan Singh to state that India is the top pick for the World Cup one year from now. He attributes the IPL for offering occasions to the youngsters to shine at the biggest sporting event in India. Moreover, he feels that it’s because of the IPL the players coming up the ranks have learnt how to adapt to situations in international cricket.

” Yes most definitely, India is the favourite team for the World Cup. I feel that the kind of players we have got, they play in the IPL with stars and learn very quickly and adapt to the situation better than the others. That’s what makes them better players.

“Under high pressure, they have done really well for their respective teams in the IPL. It’s a positive sign for team India. At the moment, India is probably the strongest T20I side in world cricket, no matter where they are playing,” Harbhajan Singh said told India Today.

Harbhajan Singh further went on to state that Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is better than the destructive batsman from the Caribbean Andre Russell apart from being a proper finisher for Team India.

“Confidence is building every day. He is someone who is a proper finisher for Team India. He is as good as Russell, maybe better than, I would say. He is hitting sixes at will,” Harbhajan Singh added.
