“Harmanpreet Kaur Has Definitely Destroyed A Lot Of Teams” – Amelia Kerr Lauds Skipper As Mumbai Indians Qualify For WPL 2023 Playoffs

Mumbai Indians all-rounder Amelia Kerr was all praise for skipper Harmanpreet Kaur after the franchise became the first team to qualify for the 2023 Women’s Premier League knock-outs. They continued their unbeaten run in the season, defeating the Gujarat Giants by 55 runs on Tuesday, March 14 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

Harmanpreet Kaur has led the Mumbai Indians from the front this season. She has scored 180 runs in five matches, at an average of 90 in the tournament so far. In the last game against Gujarat Giant, Harmanpreet slammed 51 runs off 30 deliveries, with seven boundaries and two sixes. Along with the skipper, Amelia Kerr to has been a key player for the franchise. She has taken eight wickets for the team and has scored 64 runs so far.

After Mumbai Indians’ win against Gujarat Giants, Amelia Kerr heaped praise on Harmanpreet Kaur. She said,

“Harmanpreet is amazing. It’s nice to have the opportunity to play alongside her now. She has definitely destroyed a lot of teams with her batting and she has gone out there and done the same in the tournament. She has played with freedom and is a great leader.”

“You can tell when she walks into the changing room, all the young girls idolize her. She has got a very calm way and builds confidence in your game. She is open to different suggestions and has led from the front. Harmanpreet gives you the confidence that you can achieve anything,” she added.

Mumbai Indians all-rounder Amelia Kerr further expressed that it’s special to be part of the franchise. She also spoke about their performance in the 2023 Women’s Premier League so far. Kerr praised her teammates and added that winning five out of five is a pleasing effort. She said,

“It’s special to be a part of the Mumbai Indians. Having five wins on the board is outstanding. There will be challenges along the way, but to have five wins is pleasing and I think the people we have in our team are full of energy and they love cricket.”

Mumbai Indians are at the top of the points table with 10 points from five matches and an NRR of 3.325. They will take on the UP Warriorz next on Saturday, March 18 at the Navi Mumbai. In their previous encounter against the franchise, they secured a convincing eight-wicket win.
