Harmanpreet Kaur, who drew everybody’s attention scoring a blistering knock of 171 against the mighty Australians in the semifinal, revealed that she wants Deepika Padukone to personate her character if any movie is made based on her life. Kaur also mentioned that Varun Dhawan and Ranveer Singh are her two favorite Bollywood male actors.
Kaur whose life has changed after the ICC Women’s World Cup mentioned that she gets mobbed every time she gets out of her house. “The appreciation took the time to arrive, but the love we’re getting now is overwhelming,” the Indian all-rounder said in an interview.
She is delighted with all the love and attention the women cricketers are receiving. “People now come up to me all the time. They want to meet me in person to congratulate [me] and take selfies. There are constant inquiries about our next series,” the 28-year-old cricketer from Moga mentioned.
She dreams of opening a cricket academy for both young boys and girls in her native place. She said. “The best part is that in Moga, parents of young girls are encouraging them to take up [cricket]. Not just here, but all over India, there are girls who’re thinking of taking up professional cricket. I guess that’s a huge achievement for us.”
Keeping in mind Bollywood”s recent addiction in making films based on sports stars, when asked who she wants to play her role if a biopic is made her life, Kaur without any mentioned Deepika Padukone’s name. She was heard quoting, “Deepika is a good actor. She’d be the right choice [for the biopic], she’d able portray me well on-screen,”
“I enjoyed leading the team. But everything depends on the selectors’ faith in my capability,” the hard-hitting batsman concluded when she was asked about rumors of taking up the captaincy role after Mithali Raj’s retirement.
