Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had been conned by Haryana cricketer Mrinank Singh. The culprit had recently been arrested, accused of duping a businessperson by offering them low-priced expensive watches and mobile phones. The Delhi Capitals (DC) skipper with his manager, Puneet Solanki, has filed a case against Singh. Pant was deceived for a massive amount of INR 1,63,00,000 last year in February with the aid of bounced cheque.

Last week, the Saket court issued a notice to the Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai to present Singh. Singh has been arrested by the Juhu Police earlier this month and charged with defrauding the city-based businessperson for INR 6 lakh.

Besides, Rishabh Pant wanted to buy a Franck Muller Vanguard Yachting Series watch and paid INR 36,25,120 for a Crazy Colour watch with INR 62,60,000 for a Richard Mille watch.

As reported by Mid-day, Pant’s complaint stated that he was conned by Singh, who made bogus references to earn the assurance. The complaint further comprised the information regarding the expense for the watches.

The complaint stated, “In January 2021, Mrinank told Pant and Solanki that he had started a business of buying and selling luxury watches, bags, jewelry, etc. He gave references to several cricketers to whom he claimed to have sold the goods. He falsely represented to Pant and his manager that he could procure luxury watches and other accessories for them at good discounts and very cheap prices.”

Furthermore, the complaint added, “Believing in the story of the accused, Pant handed over a luxury watch and few jewelry items in the month of February 2021 to the accused, that were purchased by him for INR 65,70,731/- (Sixty Five Lakh Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty One only) for resale (sic).”

Moreover, the sources disclosed that the 23-year-old Singh has also deceived a film director and several hotels.
