Rajasthan Royals (RR) speedster Trent Boult is known for troubling batters with his pace and swing day in and out. Recently the Kiwi fast bowler has picked one Indian batter who plays him the best at present.

The veteran pacer is prolific both with the new ball and in the death overs. Boult has been in decent form in this year’s IPL as well, leading Rajasthan’s pace attack from the front. Speaking to ESPNCricinfo, when he was asked which Indian batter has played him the best, he named his teammate Karun Nair.

“I haven’t bowl to Karun Nair in a game but he has the ability to pick any kind of ball I throw at him in the nets so at the moment I’m going to say, Karun Nair,” Trent Boult said.

The 32-year-old has picked up eight wickets in as many games in IPL 2022. Overall, Boult has scalped 80 wickets in 74 matches with the best figures of 4/18.

Trent Boult picks his dream hat-trick in IPL

The left-arm fast bowler also picked his dream hat-trick in IPL, saying he wants the wickets of Virat Kohli and Jimmy Neesham as the first two picks. Trent Boult then settled for the long-time bowling partner Tim Southee as his third and final victim.

“I would say, Virat Kohli, can’t say, Kane Williamson, Jimmy Neesham would be the second, and Tim Southee would pop on at No. 3- the pressure ball. I could not think of anyone to bowl to under pressure than Tim Southee,” he added.

When asked why he did not pick New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, Trent Boult said, “Kane’s a very good friend of mine and I have got him out before so I don’t need a second wicket! (laughs).”

Boult will hope to continue the good run in IPL 2022 as Rajasthan Royals chase the elusive title. They are currently third in the points table with 12 points in 10 games. Sanju Samson and Co. will lock horns with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the Wankhede Stadium later tonight.
