Kane Williamson was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for INR 3 Crores. After David Warner stepped down from captaincy he was named as the captain. His potentials as a test batsman were known but the captaincy material in him was put to test. While he lived up to his reputation as a batsman in the shorter versions also, surprisingly he proved to be a better leader in taking his team to the playoff stage.

In the 14 matches so far, the New Zealand captain Williamson has scored 661 runs at an outstanding average of 60.09 with the best score of 84 and at a healthy strike rate of 143.07 which is very rare from a test batsman. He has been the most consistent batsman and is 2nd in the list of leading runs scorer.

Coming at number 3, Kane Williamson scored 8 half centuries. As a captain, he made good bowling changes and led the batting from the front. In the fielding also, he demonstrated agility and proved that his hands were safe in catching, making youngsters in his team like Rashid Khan, Manish Pandey to emulate him.  Kane Williamson would continue his impressive batting and will become the Orange cap holder as Rishabh Pant’s opportunities have come to end.

He was the mainstay of Kings XI Punjab batting and being an opener had the best opportunity to make a mark.

He hit 6 half centuries and had the best score of 95* which could not help Kings XI Punjab qualify for the playoff stage. It was an amazing tournament for KL Rahul who finished the tournament as 3rd leading runs scorer in IPL 2018.

Andrew Tye the pace bowler from Australia was bought by Kings XI Punjab franchise for INR 7.20 Crores based on his 2017 performance for Gujarat Lions.  Andrew Tye is leading wicket-taker of IPL 2018 with 24 wickets from 14 matches.

He picked 4 wickets in an innings three times with an economy of 8.00 runs per over. His best figures in the tournament were 4/16. Despite his superb bowling performances and KL Rahul batting heroics,  Kings XI Punjab could not reach the playoff stage, making it clear cricket is a team game, a few individual performances can’t win the tournament.
