Here Is The List of Indian cricketers who will be missed in IPL 2018

Here is a list of some players who could have featured in this year’s IPL but keeping their base price and recent performances in mind the franchises decided not to buy them.

1. Irfan Pathan

Irfan Pathan is a former team India cricketer who played for Gujarat Lions in the previous season. Last year too he went unsold but Gujarat Lions bought him during mid of IPL 2017. He was not able to do much with the ball, as a result, he went unsold this year. Baroda also axed him captaincy this year. Following those reasons, he has joined J&K team as a coach.

2. Ishant Sharma

The 29-year-old right arm medium fast bowler was not picked by any team during this IPL. His base fare was Rs 75 lakhs. Following his inconsistency and expensive death overs in the shorter format of the game, he was not picked in this year’s IPL. KXIP had bought him last season.

3. Pragyan Ojha

The 31-year-old fast bowler is not picked in IPL since 2015. He was then part of the Mumbai Indians team. He is the first spinner in IPL to win the purple cap. However, there was a drop in form that led his absence from IPL. He could be seen doing commentary and pre-mid-post match analysis in this eleventh season.

4. Varun Aaron

The 28-year-old right arm fast bowler from Jharkhand was not picked by any team in this IPL. He last represented KXIP in 2017. He along with Ishant Sharma was not effective for the team during the death overs that is the reason for their axe from IPL.

5. Unmukt Chand

The U/19 World Cup-winning captain, 25-year-old Unmukt Chand is a Delhi based cricketer. He opens the batting and has the ability to bowl at times. IPL attracts thousands of audiences in the stadium alone; they want biggies in form of sixes and fours. Looking that in mind, there was plenty of options for other teams so he remained unsold.

6. Abhimanyu Mithun

The 28-year-old right arm medium fast bowler from Karnataka remained unsold after playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the 9th and 10th season. His latest performances were not matching his base price (Rs 50 lakh),i.e,  one of the also reason that even teams like Rajasthan Royals did not buy him.

7. Iqbal Abdullah

Another 28-year-old bowler, Iqbal Abdullah who is a slow left-arm orthodox spinner remained unsold. His performance was very poor during his stint at Royal Challengers Bangalore who ended last in the league’s points table last year.
