Herschelle Gibbs Slams BCCI For Threatening Him Over Participating In Kashmir Premier League

Former South African cricketer Herschelle Gibbs has come up with a very big statement on BCCI secretary Mr. Jay Shah. Herschelle Gibbs has stated that Secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)Mr. Jay Shah has threatened him that he will not be allowed to participate in any cricket-related work in India if he plays Kashmir Premier League (KPL). Meanwhile, the Kashmir Premier League (KPL) is a T20 format tournament that was introduced in 2021.

The former Proteas batsman Gibbs asserted that Mr. Jay Shah sent the message to former South Africa skipper Graeme Smith. Meanwhile, the current Director of Cricket at Cricket South Africa Smith later conveyed the message to him.

Meanwhile previously Gibbs on Twitter talked about how BCCI is trying to stop him from the Kashmir Premier League (KPL). Also in a tweet, he told that the reason BCCI is trying to prevent him from playing KPL is because of their political issues with Pakistan. Also, Herschelle Gibbs is part of the Overseas Warriors franchise in the Kashmir Premier League (KPL). Gibbs tweeted:

“Completely unnecessary of the @BCCI to bring their political agenda with Pakistan into the equation and trying to prevent me playing in the @kpl_20. Also threatening me (by) saying they won’t allow me entry into India for any cricket-related work. Ludicrous,”.

 

Rashid Latif also came up with a similar allegation on BCCI

Meanwhile, Former Pakistan cricketer Rashid Latif has also made similar statements against the BCCI. Meanwhile, In a tweet, Latif asserted that the BCCI is trying to influence other cricket boards to stop their players from participating in the KPL. Latif asserted:

“The @BCCI warning cricket boards that if there (their) former players took part in Kashmir Premier League, they won’t be allowed entry in India or allowed to work in Indian cricket at any level or in any capacity. Gibbs, Dilshan, @MontyPanesar & several others have been selected in KPL,”
