“He’s A Warrior, He Is My Soldier” – Ravi Shastri On Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara

On Friday, February 17, Cheteshwar Pujara will participate in his 100th Test match for India. At Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy’s second test match will take place. Since December 2017, Delhi has not hosted a test match until now. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur hosted the first Test, which the home team won by an inning and 132 runs.

Ravi Shastri, former India head coach, praised Pujara profusely for playing in 100 Test matches. He referred to Pujara as a “fighter” and promised to always treat him as a “soldier.” The top-order hitter, who made his Test debut in 2010, will be experiencing a momentous event in the second Test against Australia. Pujara becomes the 13th Indian player to play 100 Test matches for India.

“He’s a warrior, he is my Soldier” says Ravi Shastri as he praises Cheteshwar Pujara

“I said then and I say this today, he is a warrior. For me, he is my soldier, like I had said after the Gabba Test. He is a warrior. If India managed to create history by winning two series in Australia, Pujara had a massive role to play in those achievements. Massive,” Shastri told Cricbuzz.

“He is a quiet operator who can be lethal when needed. He has done yeoman service to Indian cricket and is a quintessential professional. Many congratulations to him on the 100th Test,” he added.
