Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was one of the most lethal and destructive fast bowlers of his generation. Recently, the former speedster poked fun at ever-consistent batsman from Australia; Steve Smith, who has taken batting to a whole new level.

Smith has earned the tag of the best batsman of the modern generation in the longest format of the game. He has scored runs all across the globe including India and England. Meanwhile, since his return to cricket from a year ban due to the involvement of ball-tampering scandal against South Africa in 2018, Smith has done exceedingly well and recently leapfrogged India skipper Virat Kohli as the No. 1 Test batsman.

The former Aussie skipper knocked 774 runs in seven innings including three centuries and as many fifties. Smith suffered a nasty blow in his head to miss a game but came back once to lead his side’s batting. He also scored heavily during the home series against Pakistan earlier this year. While many bowlers consider Steve Smith as a tough nut to crack, former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar doesn’t feel so.

Replying to a recent tweet, where players of different generations are pitted against each other and asked the fans to pick their favourite battle. Akhtar was pitted with Steve Smith, which turned out to be a laughing stock for the fast bowler. Shoaib Akhtar, in a sarcastic reply, admitted that he will knock off Smith within four deliveries.

“Even today, 3 hurting bouncers and i can dismiss @stevesmith49 on the 4th ball. Lol,” Akhtar replied.
