“I Can’t Speak To The Commentary Box Experience”: Sai Kishore’s Clever Dig At Former Cricketer After KKR vs GT IPL 2025 Match

Gujarat Titans (GT) spinner R Sai Kishore gave a subtle reply to former England batter Nick Knight when the form of his bowling partner, Rashid Khan, was questioned. The wrist spinner showcased his quality with figures of 2-25 in GT’s 39-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens on Monday, April 21.

Rashid Khan had a slow start to the 2025 IPL season, claiming just four wickets in the first half. Before the match against KKR, the Afghanistan international had a lackluster performance, with figures of 0-38 in GT’s home loss to Delhi Capitals (DC).

Following a disciplined bowling effort from the GT bowlers to secure their sixth win of the season, Sai Kishore was asked during the post-match presentation about Rashid Khan’s potential return to form.

“What about Rashid Khan? Your spin twin. It hasn’t been the ideal tournament for him. But a couple of wickets (today) in crucial time, how’s it going for him?” Nick Knight asked

In response, Sai Kishore stated that Rashid Khan is the best T20 bowler in the world. He further mentioned that his teammate has the full support of the entire franchise, unlike the few critics in the commentary box.

“He’s one of the best T20 bowlers in the world. He’s getting his wicket-taking knack back. As a team, we don’t doubt his abilities, I don’t know what it’s like in the commentary box. We all believe in him and I still believe he’s the best T20 bowler in the world,” Sai Kishore replied (via Hindustan Times).

Rashid Khan claimed the wickets of Sunil Narine and Andre Russell in his spell during the KKR vs GT match

The wrist spinner was brought into the attack for the final over of the powerplay, and he wasted no time, taking just three balls to strike. He dismissed Sunil Narine, who was caught by a fielder in the deep.

Rashid returned for his second spell in the 16th over, where he deceived Andre Russell, essentially securing the win for his team. GT held onto their top spot following an all-round victory over KKR in IPL 2025. They will next face Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday, April 28.
