“I Don’t Disturb Him Because He Is Busy” – Yuvraj Singh On His Equation With Virat Kohli

Former India cricketer Yuvraj Singh spoke about his equation with veteran India batter Virat Kohli in a recent interview. He expressed that he doesn’t want to disturb the latter as he is busy in his career nowadays. Yuvraj Singh and Virat Kohli share a good bond on and off the field and have played together for India for many years.

Yuvraj Singh featured on the TRS Podcast and spoke about his career as well as personal life. He was asked if he was in touch with Virat Kohli. The 2007 T20 and the 2011 ODI World Cup winners expressed that it is not possible for them to always stay in touch given Virat Kohli is busy in his career. Speaking on the podcast, Yuvraj Singh said,

“I don’t disturb him because he is busy. We knew the young Virat Kohli as Cheeku. Today’s Cheeku is Virat Kohli, so there is a big difference.”

Virat Kohli set a benchmark for fitness: Yuvraj Singh

Former cricketer Yuvraj Singh was all praise for Virat Kohli for bringing in the fitness revolution in Team India. He expressed that the former skipper set a benchmark for the others to follow in terms of fitness. Speaking on the TRS Podcast, Yuvraj Singh said, “We all wanted to become a fit team but when Kohli became the captain there was a big difference. He set a benchmark.”

During the conversation, Yuvraj Singh took a sarcastic dig at Kohli’s football skills. He expressed that he is a better footballer than Kohli. Yuvraj also termed the right-handed batter as the “Cristiano Ronaldo of cricket”. He added that the mentality and focus of both the legendary sportspersons matches well.

“I think Kohli is a very good footballer, but I have better skills. He is young so he can run around. He thinks he is Cristiano Ronaldo. Yes, he is Ronaldo in cricket in terms of fitness. Their mentality matches and the focus on the game as well,” said Yuvraj Singh.
