“I Have No Clue,” Imran Tahir On Not Playing For CSK In IPL 2020

Imran Tahir

Imran Tahir this season has by far has been the most unlucky player in this IPL season. Despite being the purple cap holder last season, he hasn’t played a single game this season. Mainly because of the team combination Chennai Super Kings went ahead with this season, an experienced bowler like Imran Tahir failed to find a place in the playing XI for over 8 games.

Not playing Tahir hasn’t done any good to the Chennai Super Kings side as they’re lying last in the points table. The likes of Sam Curran, Dwayne Bravo got the go-ahead of Imran Tahir but with MS Dhoni announcing at the post-match presentation the other day that they will look to try out their bench in order to prepare a team for the 2021 season.

I Have No Clue: Imran Tahir on not featuring in any CSK game

Recently Imran Tahir appeared on Ravichandran Ashwin’s YouTube show ‘Hello Dubaiahh’ where he revealed that it has difficult for him to sit out. He spoke about how he could relate to Faf Du Plessis who sat out for majority matches last season which is why he has been speaking a lot to the former Proteas skipper as he gets through this phase.

“I have no clue. Earlier, Faf Du Plessis had to carry drinks the whole season. It was quite painful. I actually got an idea of how he felt last year. I’ve been talking to him as well,” Imran Tahir told Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin in his YouTube show ‘Hello Dubaiahh.’

Tahir also spoke about how once the foreign player slots in the Chennai Super Kings are set then it really becomes difficult to find a place in the playing XI as we all know MS Dhoni doesn’t believe in a lot of changing and chopping.

“And once four overseas players are settled in CSK then it’s hard for the fifth guy. I hope I get a game,” he added.

Well, all we could expect is for Imran Tahir to play in the remaining games for Chennai Super Kings this season which could also pose an opportunity for us to witness his iconic running celebration after picking up a wicket.
