Adelaide Oval will host the second semi-final between India and England on November 10. Both teams have had solid campaigns in Group 12. India has won four of their five games, whereas the English side won three of their five games and a rain washout.

The biggest threat for England in the semi-finals is Virat Kohli and Suryaumar Yadav, the top two run scorers in the Super-12s stage. Suryakumar scored three fifties and 225 runs in 5 innings at a strike rate in excess of 180. Apart from this, he has already scored 1000+ T20I runs this calendar year.

Mike Hussey, former Australian cricketer and England’s current assistant coach, wants Suryakumar Yadav to have an unnoticed performance and not score big against them. Hussey said to Sportstar:

“He’s been sensational and has been doing it for a number of years in the IPL. And now to do it consistently at the highest level, it’s great to watch. Personally, love watching him bat. Obviously, I hope he doesn’t get a big score against England on Thursday (laughs).”

“India are a fantastic team, and we knew that coming into the tournament. We have to be very close to our best to really challenge them and win the match. And maybe, it’ll just be one or two little things. Whether they go for us or they go against us could be the difference between winning and losing the match,” he added.

Earlier this year, in the T20Is versus England in their backyard, Suryakumar Yadav scored a century at a losing cause. He hopes to replicate that performance so that India will be a step closer to lifting this elusive trophy.

“It’s going to be a great spectacle” – Mike Hussey

The former World Cup winner reckoned that it will be a good contest between bat and ball when India and England square off at the Adelaide. He concluded by saying:

“It’s going to be a great spectacle – two fantastic teams, and they’ll both be going as hard as they possibly can. It’s the World Cup semi-final, and that prize to make it to the final at the MCG is pretty motivating. So, it should be a great contest.”
