“I Love Every Aspect Of Him” – Nitish Kumar Reddy Refers To The Former Indian Captain As His Idol

Indian all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has declared former Indian captain Virat Kohli as his cricketing idol. The 21-year-old recently participated in the unofficial Test series between India A and Australia A, though his performance was modest, scoring only 71 runs and taking just one wicket across four innings.

Nitish spoke highly of Kohli, revealing that he has looked up to the Delhi-born cricketer since childhood, especially admiring his playing style and mindset. In an interview with RevSportz, he shared:

“My idol, like, cricketing idol is Virat bhai (Virat Kohli). Since childhood, I have watched him and I played my cricket based on his style. When I started playing cricket, I watched him and I admired his gameplay and his attitude. The way he changed Indian cricket. I like everything about him; I like him a lot.”

In the same interview, the young cricketer also shared that his goal is to establish himself as one of the greatest all-rounders. Nitish stated:

“My ultimate dream is to become one of the greatest, to become one of the greatest all-rounders. That’s my ultimate goal. Greatest all-rounders. Like Ben Stokes, Hardik Pandya, Kapil Dev – in that kind of league.”

The young all-rounder has received his first national Test call-up for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is set to begin on November 22 in Perth. He will be eager to make his debut and play a key role in his team’s success.

Nitish Kumar Reddy made his India debut during the T20I series against Bangladesh

The Andhra cricketer was picked up by SunRisers Hyderabad for the 2023 IPL season. He featured in two matches but didn’t get an opportunity to bat and went wicketless. However, he had a remarkable 2024 season, accumulating 303 runs in 13 matches, including two half-centuries, and also claiming three wickets.

His impressive performances earned him a call-up to the national team for the T20I series against Bangladesh. In three matches, Nitish made an impact by scoring 90 runs, including one half-century, and taking three wickets.
