During his illustrious career, MS Dhoni has earned the reputation of being one of the greatest ever finishers. Whether it be for India or CSK in the IPL, Dhoni has always stood tall in pressure situations. He has won countless matches for his side as he has taken the game deep and finished it off in style.

Recently South African David Miller heaped compliments on Dhoni’s finishing abilities. Miller stated that he always takes pointers from Dhoni’s style of batting during run chases and taking his team home in crunch situations.

Furthermore, David Miller acknowledged his calmness and wants to finish games like Dhoni for his side. Miller went ahead and regarded Dhoni as one of the greatest finishers who has been a match-winner for such a long time.

“I love the way Dhoni goes about his business. Certainly his calmness – you just think he’s always under control. The way he portrays himself, that’s something he’s extremely good at and I do enjoy that about him. I try and give off the same energy,” Miller told ‘ESPNcricinfo’.

“He’s got his strengths and weaknesses as a batsman and so do I. I tend to be in awe of some of his chases rather than ‘I want to bat like him’. I suppose I just want to finish games as he does.

“Technique-wise and the way you go about it, we all have our own ways. I don’t think I can rate myself or put myself in a category”, Miller further explained.

“We’ll see how my career unfolds and finishes and then we can look back and sort of judge. Definitely, Dhoni is one of the best finishers ever; he’s proven it many times. I love watching him play”, Miller said about Dhoni ahead of IPL 2020.

Meanwhile, Miller will be making his debut for the Rajasthan Royals in the IPL this year. The Royals will face Dhoni’s men in their first match of IPL 2020 on 22nd September at Sharjah. Whereas Dhoni will be seen first in the season opener against Mumbai Indians on September 19 at Abu Dhabi.
