‘I Want To Earn That Spot Again’- Suryakumar Yadav Seeks To Return To The Test Team

The star Indian batsman Suryakumar Yadav has expressed his wish to get back into the Test team and enjoy himself with red-ball cricket. However, he acknowledges that the road will not be easy.

As things stand now, he finds himself below people like Rajat Patidar, KL Rahul, Sarfaraz Khan and Shreyas Iyer in the selection order. Notwithstanding this, Suryakumar remains undeterred and focused on his goal. Even though there’s competition, Suryakumar isn’t scared about it but he is adamant about working hard to prove himself.

Suryakumar shows determination by putting extra effort into winning in longer formats, which is commendable given that doing so calls for so much hard work. In addition, his persistence coupled with a positive disposition may just help him bounce back into Tests again someday. By staying focused on his target and putting in the required laborers’ lengths of time; Suryakumar hopes to become an important part of the Indian Test team forever.

This week, Suryakumar Yadav, the famous Indian star batsman expressed that he wants to have fun playing red-ball cricket otherwise, it is impossible for him to get back to the Test squad. The 33-year-old explained that there are many who have battled hard for their places in Tests and hence he wishes to be among them.

“There are a lot of people who have worked really hard to earn their place and even I want to earn that spot again,” Suryakumar Yadav said on the sidelines of the Buchi Babu Invitational tournament.

“Going forward, if I have to play, then I will automatically play. That’s not in my control. What’s in my power right now is to play the Buchi Babu tournament, go on to play the Duleep Trophy and then see what happens. But yes, I’m really looking forward. There are ten Test matches lined up and I’m obviously excited for some red-ball fun,” he said.

“I made my debut for India in Tests. After that, I got injured as well. There were a lot of people who got an opportunity and have done well too. They deserve that opportunity right now,” he added.
