Jason Roy has made a good comeback to cricket after a break of four months. The English opener played a brilliant knock of 73 runs in 60 balls in the run chase against Netherlands. Jason was bought by the Gujarat Titans (GT) in the mega auctions of IPL 2022, but he pulled out of the tournament.
Roy said that he wanted to spend time with his family to rejuvenate himself. Roy also revealed that he wasn’t enjoying his cricket during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) despite having a great PSL 2022 season. The England opener talked about how life was tough in the bio bubble. Jason Roy said:
“Things mentally weren’t right with me at the PSL. I was in a weird place because I was playing good cricket but I wasn’t enjoying myself, I wasn’t happy and it was just a dark time. It was just a good two months to come home and live a normal life for a bit after a tough couple of years.”

Jason Roy said that he also wanted to spend time with his child due to which he felt that it was the right time to take the break. “There were a lot of months away. Over 50 days of hotel quarantine the year before and then having a child in January and having to spend time away from him was just a bit too much,” added Jason Roy.
“It has refreshed my mind” – Jason Roy talks about how break helped him
Jason Roy further added that he spent quality time at home during his off time from the Indian Premier League. This has helped him refresh his mind and body. Roy said, “I missed the IPL to spend some time at home and it has refreshed my mind and body.”
” I recognised where I was at with a lot of things. So, it is nice to be here now and I’m chomping at the bit to put the badge back on. It’s the same for Surrey. I’ve loved every minute of that. It’s a nice feeling to be in love with the game again,” added Jason Roy.
