The BCCI has announced the Indian Test squad for the four-match Test series against Australia. India tour Australia for a full -length tour. The first of the four Tests will be played in Adelaide from December 17 to 21. Melbourne will host the Boxing Day Test from December 26-30.

Sydney will host the third (January 7-11) and Brisbane (January 15-19)the fourth and final Test match. Meanwhile, former Australian skipper Ian Chappell said that he is looking forward to see Prithvi Shaw bat in the Test series. Prithvi Shaw scored a century on debut against West Indies in 2018.

Since then he has blown hot and cold in the international circuit. He missed the last tour against Australia after injuring his ankle before the first Test. This time around he is fit and will travel with the squad to Australia post the IPL final on November 11.

“India’s Prithvi Shaw burst onto the scene with a Test century on debut as an 18-year-old, but has since exuded signs he’s yet to “work it out”. Having missed out on valuable experience on the last tour of Australia because of an untimely ankle injury, he then displayed signs in New Zealand that he’s now closer to working it out and this Australian tour could well further that progression” wrote Chappell in his column for ESPNcricinfo.

Another exciting youngster who has been added to the Test squad is Shubman Gill. Gill was in the India U-19 squad which won the title under Shaw in 2018. Since then, his game has been highly praised by cricket experts.

He made his ODI debut against New Zealand in 2018. He is yet to make his Test debut and can get his chance in Australia. He ended as the highest run-getter for KKR with 440 runs from 14 games with three fifties to his name.
