The Board of Cricket Control for India, Secretary Jay Shah presented the golden ticket to Bharat Ratna and one of the greatest cricketers of all time Sachin Tendulkar to watch matches for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 starting from 5th October.

An iconic moment for cricket and the nation! As part of our “Golden Ticket for India Icons” program, BCCI Honorary Secretary @JayShah presented the golden ticket to Bharat Ratna Shri @sachin_rt. A symbol of cricketing excellence and national pride, Sachin Tendulkar’s journey has inspired generations. Now, he’ll be part of the @ICC@cricketworldcup 2023, witnessing the action LIVE,” BCCI wrote on their X handle.

 

Golden Ticket means that the person will be allowed to watch every stadium at the venue. The ticket will have the ticket holder’s name meaning VIP treatment. Jay Shah presented the golden ticket to superstar Amitabh Bachchan. It promises to be an exciting tournament with the top 10 teams in the world taking part from 5th October to 19th November 2023.

The host India, New Zealand, South Africa, England, Australia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan progressed into the tournament directly due to finishing in the top 8 of the ICC ODI Super League. Sri Lanka and the Netherlands qualified for the tournament after finishing in the top 2 of the qualifying round played in Zimbabwe this year.

ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is going to be an exciting one

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 is about to begin as Australia, South Africa, India, and the Netherlands announced a 15-member squad for the marquee event. England and New Zealand will open the tournament at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad on 5th October 2023.

Each team will play each other once before the top four teams will qualify for the semi-finals. There are a total of 10 venues including New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Dharamshala, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad.

The Indian team will look to end their 12-year drought of winning an ICC title. Rohit Sharma and Co would be hoping for a brilliant outing in the tournament. The crowds during the tournament would be sold out, especially Indian matches.

It promises to be an exciting tournament as top-quality batters and bowlers will look to entertain with their abilities.
