England Cricket announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 starting from 5th October. They recently displayed a dominating display defeating New Zealand by 3-1 in the recently concluded ODI series at home.

It looks like a solid unit as they named Harry Brook replacing Jason Roy for the tournament. The defending Champions England will start the World Cup against runners-up of 2019 New Zealand in the opening match to be played on 5th October at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. England would look for an impressive performance in the World Cup.

“We are blessed with an incredibly strong group of white-ball players which was underlined by the performances in the series win against a very good New Zealand team. The strength of the group has meant that we have had to make some tough decisions on world-class players with Jason Roy missing out and Harry Brook coming into the squad.”

The batting unit looks impressive with Dawid Malan, Jonny Bairstow, Moeen Ali, Liam Livingstone, Ben Stokes, Joe Root, and Harry Brook. England included Mark Wood, Chris Woakes, Reece Topley, and David Willey as their pace bowling options. The team will be led by Jos Buttler and hoping for a good performance in World Cup 2023.

Sam Curran, Ben Stokes, and Chris Woakes comprise all-round options. Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali are two genuine spin bowling options while Liam Livingstone is part part-time option.
