ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: Fans React As India Thrash Bangladesh To Register Fourth Successive Win

The Indian Cricket Team registered a comfortable 7-wicket win over Bangladesh to complete their fourth successive win in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 played at MCA Stadium, Pune on 19th October 2023.

Chasing a modest total of 257 runs, Rohit Sharma looked in sublime touch putting the Bangladesh bowlers under pressure with his attacking mindset. Shubman Gill played a little cautiously before launching an assault on the bowlers. At the end of the first 10 overs, Indian openers raced to 63 for 0.

The Indian openers continued to show their class with an attacking mindset and made life tough for Bangladesh bowlers. His innings ended providing a simple catch to Towhid Hridoy putting on 88 runs and laying a strong foundation. Virat Kohli showed his intent right from the word go with some lovely shots and kept the momentum going along with Gill.

Gill put on a brilliant display of batting reaching his fifty off 52 deliveries. He was eventually dismissed trying to hit a big shot caught by Mahmudullah at deep midwicket. Gill and Kohli added 44 runs for the 2nd wicket. Kohli showed his class reaching fifty off 48 deliveries. Shreyas Iyer looked in decent touch keeping the scoreboard ticking before providing a simple catch to Mahmudullah.

Iyer and Kohli added 46 runs for the 3rd wicket. It was a masterclass of an innings as Kohli looked in sublime touch along with KL Rahul. Kohli completed the match with a six and reached a century off 97 deliveries. With this century, King Kohli scored his 48th One-day international century.

Bangladesh stand-in captain Najmul Hasan Shanto won the toss and decided to bat first. Tanzid Hasan and Liton Das looked cautiously initially before launching an attack on the Indian bowlers. Kuldeep Yadav got rid of Tanzid after the first drinks break ending 93 runs opening partnership.

Despite Hardik Pandya’s absence, Indian bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and restricted Bangladesh to 256 for 8 in 50 overs. Siraj, Bumrah, and Jadeja took 2 wickets each while Shardul Thakur and Kuldeep Yadav took 1 wicket each.
