ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: India Slams Record-Breaking 410 Against The Netherlands

Team India showcased their batting prowess against the Netherlands in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023 match on Sunday, November 12 at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. They put on 410 runs on the board, owing to a solid performance from the batting unit. The innings witnessed cracking centuries from Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bat first. He slammed a boundary to kick off the proceedings. His partnership of 100 runs with Shubman Gill set the tone for India’s batting. Both Rohit and Gill slammed the fifties in the innings. Meanwhile, in-form batter, Virat Kohli also smashed a fifty. Following his dismissal. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer put on a terrific partnership.

The duo added 208 runs for the fourth-wicket stand. Shreyas Iyer slammed 128 runs off 94 deliveries, with 10 boundaries and five sixes. On the other hand, KL Rahul smashed four sixes and eleven boundaries as he scored 102 runs off just 64 deliveries. Bas de Leede was the pick of the bowlers for the Netherlands with two wickets in the innings. India broke several records with their stunning performance.

Records India broke against the Netherlands

– Team India put on their highest total of the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup 2023. It is their second-highest in the history of the tournament. Meanwhile, it is the fifth-highest overall score by a team in the ODI World Cup.

– The Indian innings against the Netherlands witnessed 16 sixes. It is the second-highest for the team in an innings in the ODI World Cup.

– Five Indian batters slammed fifty-plus scores in the innings. This is the fourth occasion of a team featuring 5 half-centurions in an innings.
– So far in the ICC ODI World Cup 2023, Indian batters have scored 50 plus scores on 20 occasions, the most for the team in a single World Cup edition.
KL Rahul’s 102 is now the second-highest score for an Indian wicket-keeper batter in an ODI World Cup innings. Head coach Rahul Dravid is at the top of the list with 145 runs against Sri Lanka during the 1999 World Cup.
– Indian skipper Rohit Sharma broke the record for most sixes in an ODI in a calendar year. He has slammed 59 sixes in 2023 in the format, going past AB de Villiers in the list. The South African batter had slammed 58 sixes in 2015.
