The Indian Team will look to continue their winning streak as they will face Bangladesh at MCA Stadium, Pune on 19th October 2023. Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the men in blue has been impressive winning all three matches so far.

Bangladesh are coming off a loss against New Zealand and needs to play out of their skins to defeat the Indian team. It promises to be another exciting match as Men in Blue would look to win their fourth match in a row while Bangladesh will make sure that they give a tough fight.

Both teams have top-quality players who can change the course of the game with their abilities. Indian team is currently in the 2nd spot in the points table while Bangladesh won only 1 match in the tournament so far.

Here we look at the 5 Players To Watch Out For

  1. Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma has been in excellent form putting enough pressure on the opponent bowlers right from the word go. He showed his class by smashing the Pakistani bowlers in pursuit of 192. It was an amazing knock by the Indian captain scoring 86 runs in quick time with 6 fours and 6 sixes.

The Indian captain has a great record against Bangladesh in ODI format with 738 runs from 16 matches ( 16 innings) including 3 centuries and 3 half-centuries to his name. His best score came during the 2015 quarterfinals played at Melbourne Cricket Ground, MCG.

He would be looking to provide an excellent start in the first 10 overs putting enough pressure on Bangladesh bowlers that help the Indian team register victory.

  1. Liton Das

Liton Das had a disappointing outing in the previous match against New Zealand dismissed off the very first delivery. He can put bowlers under pressure with his attacking shot-making.

His performance in One-day internationals has been decent enough with 305 runs from 10 matches (10 innings) with the best score of 121. He would be crucial to provide a decent start in the first 10 overs to put pressure on the Indian bowling lineup. Bangladesh fans would be hoping that Liton Das can showcase his talent against top-quality Indian bowling comprising of Bumrah, and Siraj.

  1. Shreyas Iyer

Shreyas Iyer returned to form with a well-complied half-century against Pakistan and remained not out. He looked good against the pacers and put the spinners under pressure coming down the track.

He has played in 3 One-day international matches against Bangladesh and scored 109 runs with best score of 82. His role is to provide stability in the middle overs if things become tough for the Indian batters.

Iyer would be looking to replicate his decent form against Bangladesh and hope to help Team India register another comfortable victory which would allow Men in Blue to register the fourth successive victory.

  1. Mushfiqur Rahim

The veteran Bangladesh wicketkeeper Mushfiqur Rahim had a decent outing in the previous match against New Zealand. He looked steady with some lovely shots against top-quality New Zealand bowling.

Rahim scored 51 and put on a decent partnership with Shakib AL Hasan. He has a great record against India in the ODI format with 665 runs from 25 matches (24 innings) including the best score of 117. He needs to play a key role in the middle order and keep scoring runs that will allow Bangladesh to put some pressure on Indian bowling.

  1. Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah had a tremendous performance in the previous match against Pakistan. He bowled with great control dismissing Rizwan and Shahbad Khan quickly to tilt the match in favour of India.

He finished with figures of 2 for 19 in 7 overs and was named the player of the match award. Bumrah has played just 4 matches against Bangladesh grabbing 10 wickets with the best figures of 4 for 55 in the 2019 World Cup match at an economy of 4.51 runs per over.

Bumrah would be looking to do the job again picking up early wickets and putting enough pressure on the Bangladeshi batting lineup.
